Monteverdi Vespers of 1610

Monteverdi’s monumental setting of the Vespers was revolutionary in its own time and has lost none of its freshness and vitality four centuries later. From simple hymns to exuberant ten-part choruses, this is a work full of contrast and colour by a composer at the height of his powers. KCS is joined by six soloists and the outstanding musicians of the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble and Purcell Orchestra. An unmissable occasion!
