Our final concert of the season is a celebration of the stunning music of Henry Purcell. We first perform highlights of his wonderful church music, including perhaps his finest anthem, My Heart is inditing, composed for the coronation of King James II. Then we are joined by superb soloists to revel in his ground-breaking opera Dido and Aeneas, all accompanied by the authentic instruments of The Purcell Orchestra.
Our outstanding quartet of soloists are all recent graduates of the prestigious National Opera Studio, including Felix Gygli, the winner of the 2023 Kathleen Ferrier Award.
